In 2011, I joined forces with Ryan Smith, Robert Yang, and Jonathan Shanks to start a record label. All of us bonded on queer and music history, and we were particularly inspired by the themes around intentional communities and closed societies.
Discaire Records became a way for us to play around with how to tell stories through the packaging, promotions, and shipping of music–particularly vinyl.
In addition to being a project manager for the label, I designed all of the packaging / online media and helped produce the ‘initiation video’ for the CLAWS ‘Cave In’ EP.
